Isn't this due to licencing restrictions based around football clubs?
IIRC you can't take beer into the stands at Hull, and certainly not when I went to Swindon a few months back. Maybe there is a concession that has to be applied for, for which they haven't bothered with in this case.

my mate had no probs taking a few cheeky beers to our seats at hull. Saying that maybe they should have stopped him cause he did the half time kicking against the hull fan and was a disgrace.  |
