Just wondering if I could count on your help?
Basically I'm a 3rd year student studying Sports Journalism and need help with my final project.
I'm producing a super league preview magazine and am hoping to use Q and As with fans from each club as part of it.
Most on my course are doing generic sports such as football so I'm hoping I can use mine as something a little bit different, using my passion of Rugby League.
I was just wondering if any of you could help answer the following questions:
Name:
1 - How did you rate your side's 2009 performance?
2 - Who are the key players for you?
3 - Young star to watch?
4 - Player you would most like to get rid of?
5 - What's the general opinion of Steve McNamara?
6 - Which game are you most looking forward to this year?
7 - Who is your most hated opposition player and why?
8 - Have you been happy with Bradford's transfer activity this season?
9 - What was the reason to last year's plight?
10 - Season prediction? eg where will you finish and how do you think you will perform?
Much appreciated guys.
If you want to e-mail me for any queries or even if you want to answer via e-mail, don't hesitate to contact me at gfarrimond@uclan.ac.uk
Thank you very much and a happy new year!

| 1. Below par, dissappointind, average SL at best.
2. Last year - Steve Menzies, Sam Burgess. This year could be any of L'Estrange, Orford, Kearney, Menzies, Halley.
3. James Donaldson
4. Rikki Sheriffe
5. He should be given another crack given the general improvement of the squad, but I think everyone is agreed that the first ten games are vital for him.
6. The GF . Nah, probably Leeds at home.
7. Either Kevin Sinfield or Brent Webb, both moaning little barstewards who never lay off the ref, and don't know how to keep their mouth shut.
8. Very, bar Burgess out and Sculthorpe in.
9. Slow and uncreative halfbacks, lack of confidence, our defence down Sheriffe & Sykes' side.
10. I expect top 6 this season, anything above that would be great. I hope to see pride and passion, which I think we already saw from L'Estrange, Hall and Kearney on their first game. And I think we will have a very creative combination between Kearney, Orford and L'Estrange.

| 1 - How did you rate your side's 2009 performance? Very poor until the end of the season when they became better.
2 - Who are the key players for you? Now, it's Matt Orford and Brett Kearney
3 - Young star to watch? James Donaldson
4 - Player you would most like to get rid of? Michael Worrincy
5 - What's the general opinion of Steve McNamara? I think it's an unknown one. There have been flashes of good and very bad. There's no doubt this season is make or break for him though.
6 - Which game are you most looking forward to this year? The first one. Not because of the opposition, just because it's the first match.
7 - Who is your most hated opposition player and why? Toss up between Lee Briers and Danny Brough. Both talented but pure gobpieces.
8 - Have you been happy with Bradford's transfer activity this season? Yes, definitely.
9 - What was the reason to last year's plight? Too many average or ageing players in key positions.
10 - Season prediction? eg where will you finish and how do you think you will perform? I'd say 5th is a likely position, with a decent playoff run but not the Final. I think it'll take some time to get going though as new players learn each other's ways, which could cost McNamara his job as the axes are already hanging.

| 1. 5/10, Very good at times and Very bad at times.
2. Matt Orford will be our key player next year.
3. James Donaldson will be a future international.
4. Rikki Sheriffe - He is a championship standard player.
5. McNamara could be a good coach but has nobody to turn too when in need of help. That back room staff don't seem good enough, and McNamara could do with someone with good experiance to help him out.
6. Leeds at home.
7. Keith Senior - Leeds, overated (always has been) and thinks he's 10 men.
8. Yes, look an improvement on last years team.
9. No qaulity in the halfbacks, not good enough backs and injurys.
10. Top 6 realisticly, top 4 hopefully, and a Challenge Cup final apperance.

2 - Since this is a preview....Orford, Kearney & L'Estrange
3 - James Donaldson
4 - I think get rid of is the wrong question, I think Rikki Sheriffe has a bit to prove
5 - Last chance saloon, made mistakes last year and needs to show improvement
6 - First home game
7 - Ryan Bailey
8 - Yes, improved where we have needed too..ask me in ten games lol
9 - lack of creativity, kicking game was poor, lack of confidence
10 - I'm hoping top 4, realistically top 6

| 1. Curates egg season . . . . though it was good to finish strong, it'd have been good to start that form a few games earlier so we could have made a proper bid for the playoffs.
2. Suspect it'll be L'Estrange & Orford . . . . with some dogged work by Kearney (a la Graham Idle / Danny Gartner'esk)
3. Donaldson
4. Sheriffe - IF we could have someone better in exchange
5. Bad season last time out. On paper a far better squad this term. Suspect it's (probably rightly) $hit or bust for him this year
6. Leeds - any game.
7. Brent Webb - not adverse to kicking or dropping in with knees on opposition players AFTER they've scored and made him look an ar$e for letting them get over / why he can get away with elbowing opposition players when he's been tackled/getting up to play the ball.
8. Would have been good to keep Sam but understand, and accept, why he's not a Bull . . . . for now. Happy with those coming in.
9. Hard one. Some would say the coaching/management. Some would say trouble a'tmill within the camp. Others that people just didn't stick to the game plan and/or consistently perform to their ability. Personally I suspect that, over all, it was probably a bit of all of those at differing times of the season.
10. Better than last year . . . .PLEASE, FFS! It'd be hard, though not impossible, to be worse this year. The new cadre of players make us look a stronger (and hopefully) more competitive side on paper at least. I'd be very disappointed it we didn't make the top eight this year and be well chuffed if we made the top 4. We really need to be far more consistent team . . . and cold, brutally, ruthless with the opposition (I think, as a good friend of mine would say, the cry "Banzai!" & "Destroy, with extreme prejudice" just about covers the last bit )

| 1 - Below par
2 - Orford, Kearney, L'estrange
3 - James Donaldson
4 - None now
5 - Not lived upto expectation but he's got one more shot so let him get on with it
6 - Crusaders at home after last season I want to see a cricket score against them
7 - Brent Webb because he's dirty
8 - Yes more so seeing Maccas happiness to get rid of the dead wood and trouble makers.
9 - Lack of confidence and a number of swaud players intent on causing trouble
10 - Top 8
