| Being rather petulant lately. Seems to be increasingly easily riled up when in previous years I never found this behaviour from him. Today he elbowed Danny Walker in the face, it was only a slight bump but there was no need for it and he could cop something for that, also a couple of weeks ago against Leeds he tried squaring up to Ablett when again, there was no need for it, Ablett wasn't causing any issue after the penalty had been given and still Hill decided to punch the ball from his grasp. I know he's captain, but he's getting a little bit mouthy with the referee too this year, and it's not just asking questions, he's clearly frustrated and I feel like even if it's perhaps justified if the decision is clearly wrong he's slightly over stepping in his protests... Anybody else of the same feeling? Maybe he needs a break from the captaincy?

I think it is frustration. We are playing poorly and he is struggling for form this season. He seems to be complaining to the referee with an exasperated look on his face quite often.

| He is not a patch on last year, steady but not playing to his standards, to me he looks unfit maybe due to no pre-season, when your unfit you lie on a lot and he must be our worse offender this year

| He's not at full fitness and he's still playing. I always thought that as quality as a player he's always been, he was far too nice. I'm glad to see a bit of mongrel in him. Once he's back fully fit he'll find his old form and add that with the bit of 'Westwood' that he seems to have picked up, he'll be top drawer.

A bit of mongrel is fine when it's your natural state, that bit of menace that a player has that says to an opponent beware don't mess with me or my team mates.
I don't obviously know but Chris Hill's 'mongrel' isn't a believable threat, it's come about by trying to be a leader during a frustrating period of form for him and the team and cocking an elbow at a 17 year old on national TV really? He should have just smiled given him the ball and patted the lad on the head, the young shaver and Widnes got exactly the reaction that they wanted.

| Oh I agree about him elbowing Danny was stupid and uncalled for. I'm talker more about the bigger picture, not that one incident. Danny is a top lad and won't be feared by that in the slightest. I agree Chris doing that benefitted the Chemics more than it benefitted us.
I just mean I'm happy to see him try and rough his game up in general a bit. Players like hock and Westwood we're/are feared because of their old school style. Hill was feared and well respected because of his professionalism and his good nature. But even players like that need to have a bit of 'C U Next Tuesday' in em. Look at Sam Burgess, not a dirty player but he wont take any nonsense.

| I was disappointed in his reaction, I assume it was the height disparity that led to connecting where it did but I expect him to be up before the disciplinary. Worst case is its an attack to the head of an opponent.
As for the "lying on" that always seems to have been part of his game, plenty of penalties last season for the same offence.
None of the above undermines my high regard for him.

| Hill. Very costly player. Sometimes I question wether this penalty count of sets his presence.

I'm not sure his penalties are any more costly than Matty Russell constantly getting turfed into touch. Which player would you rather be missing a for a big game.....any game in fact ?
